Our Story
An award-winning, full service catering and event produciton company Events, Etc... was founded in 1983 by Barbara (Bobbie) Fakkema in the beginning of an entirely new concept for the hospitality industry... entrepreneurial in the truest sense of the word. Since our very first day in business, we have lent our professional design and catering services to create beautiful, successful events and serve delicious, creative fine cuisine to San Francisco, the Peninsula, the South Bay and the greater Bay Area.
The result is a long list of extremely satisfied and loyal clients. We are committed to excellence and paying close attention to every client's needs.
Over the past 25 years our reliable, talented and experienced team has raised the bar ever higher in fine catering to produce flawless, memorable and exciting corporate events, weddings and social celebrations.
Since then Bobbie and Events, Etc.. have been the reciepents of numerous awards and regonintions. The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce honored Bobbie with the prestigious award of “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1990. She was one of the original members of NAWBO Silicon Valley (National Association of Women Business Owners) and president in 1991. Events, Etc.. has also been in the “Top 50 Women in Business” in Silicon Valley in 2001 and 2003, and has earned the distinguished award from NACE San Francisco “Catered Event of the Year.”
Our philosophy also includes serving our community by making donations to C.A.S.A Child Advocates, The Hunger Project, Ronald McDonald House, The Boys and Girls Club and many other charities. Events, Etc... is committed to the future of our loyal employees and our community.
